I sold my first salvaged bricks at nine years old. Where others saw rubble, I saw goods — and that became thirty years of trading rugs, antiques, fine jewelry, diamonds and watches.

I live in Miami, Florida, where I run the family jewelry business Bizak & Co. and the mail-in repair service BizakAid. I trained in gemology through courses at HRD Antwerp and ERIJ, and I have been a pastor since 2000.

I write what I actually did: how to see value, do the math and deal honestly. And I draw the things I have loved all my life — watches, jewelry, antiques, ships and planes — as big, calm pictures to color.
